About Eric Nitz

Great at finding the root problem and fixing it right the first time. For as long as I can remember, fixing things has been something that is the most satisfying for me. When a problem surfaces, I see it as an exciting new puzzle to solve and I use all resources available to find the most effective fix and to prevent it happening in the future. When I was in college I was introduced to Javascript and it only lit the fire for my passion. I'm sure many people remember the MySpace days, and how you had to have the most standout profile amongst your friends. I quickly learned how to use HTML to properly format and place in links into my profile and I discovered how much fun it was to work with the location and colors of objects to allow it to be the most unique I could find. Quickly, it turned in to editing files for my games to provide an edge or to optimize performance for my hardware. Some bugs were encountered, but little did I know how much that would become a passion for what I would want to do later in life. I've worked on several projects which I found to be some of the most satisfying endeavors I have embarked on. Most recently, I assisted UGA with a chat-bot project which allowed students and parents to easily find answers to frequently asked questions and provided links with additional information. Tailoring the responses were interesting from the data we received, and modifying the parameters for what the bot would accept as an answer really opened my eyes to the unlimited potential for software applications and kindled the flames for my desires in the future. Currently I work as a Financial Aid Advisor, but have spent much of my free time over the past 3 years working independently and learning how to use Java, JS, CSS, HTML, React and Vue. Additionaly I have worked with Postgres, AWS, Google Cloud and Azure. Most recently I have began progressing through a Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Analytics program and have decided to pursue that to the best of my ability.
