About Eric Parris

I have gained experience through many different engineering jobs. I have worked with public and private entities to gain a well-rounded engineering background. During my time in these positions, I learned much about the field of civil engineering, increased my technical skill set, and applied the knowledge I have gained throughout 4 years of undergraduate studies. In December 2012, I received a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University, and the following Spring I acquired my EIT certificate. Through my coursework at The Ohio State University, in addition to several engineering related work positions, I feel I have a strong combination of skills and technical knowledge. More specifically, during two co-op rotations at Ferguson Construction I gained much experience with construction procedure, environment, and regulations. I also worked as an ODOT intern in the division of construction. My daily responsibilities included: reviewing plans to ensure contractor compliance, materials management, and general project supervision. I interacted on a daily basis with project managers and became very comfortable with the problem solving and cooperation that went along with these interactions. Currently, I am working with IJUS LLC. a utility contractor based in Gahanna, OH. I have gained vast knowledge of utility infrastructure with this company. On a scholastic level, I have completed classes concerning civil engineering and construction materials, concrete creation and analysis, flexible and rigid pavement, engineering ethics, surveying and construction estimating. I have experience with various software packages such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and extensive use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Personally, I have a commitment to hard work, professionalism, and team work.
