About Eric Peavey

After an extensive tenure in the food service industry working in fast-paced, diverse working environments, I pivoted my career direction towards the geosciences-particularly oil and gas-where my speed, technical prowess and commercial aptitude would be better served. Within my first three months as a geologist in industry I cleared 7-month production and 18-month research backlogs, partially automated my position and reduced the time required to complete the job's weekly tasks from 60 hours per week to 12 hours per week. During my new-found free time, I learned to acquire and interpret data from various laboratory techniques for rock property delineation (e.g, GC, NMR, TGA, SEM, PLM, CT, XRD) and geomechanics. I simultaneously developed workflows to evaluate data quality of output from automated XRF units, building integrated geochemical rock classification schemes for bentonites, chemofacies and lithology approximation to augment internal, proprietary rock classification systems. In summary, my experience spans a variety of basins and depositional regimes within the US, Canada and Argentina. I have ft of integrated core analysis experience and am adept at solving complex, multi-faceted problems which involve integration and interpretation of geological, geophysical, geochemical and petrophysical data into cohesive earth models from basin-to-field scale. I have assisted in business metric development and have utilized my communication skills to bridge the disparity in understanding between technical staff and management. If there's one thing I've learned, it's "adapt, modify, overcome."
