About Eric Pinder

Hello, my name is Eric Pinder! Graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Secondary Education - History and minors in English Teaching and Economics Teaching (April 2021). At Grand Valley, I worked closely with professors in the College of Education, History Department, and Honors College to get the most out of my four years of undergraduate education. On top of my regular studies, I also worked as a tutor with the Tutoring Center and as a mentor for the Honors College to develop my leadership and relationship-building skills. Additionally, during my senior year I was awarded the Cooley-Huff Distinguished Social Studies Award and earned the privilege of completing my preservice teaching with Grand Rapids Public Schools at University Preperatory Academy. With this program, I worked with my coordinating teacher for the whole year and participated in structural professional development sessions led by experienced GVSU faculty and veteran GRPS teachers. In my free time, you can find me hiking, fishing, golfing, cooking, or at the beach reading. Others have described me as meticulous, hard-working, and very knowledgeable about the content that I teach. Additionally, many students have shared already that they enjoyed having me as a teacher and loved the fun, challenging, and interesting lessons that I lead in the classroom.
