About Eric Pryor

Accomplished nonprofit executive, creative arts leader, and stanch advocate for arts education with 20 years of experience with prestigious arts and cultural organizations. As President and CEO of Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, I am proud to lead this nations first Museum and Arts School. At PAFA we celebrate the transformative power of art and art-making, through our world -class museum and fine art school, PAFA nurtures and recognizes artists at every phase of their career. Since joining PAFA in January 2022, I have worked with our senior management team and board of directors in strengthening the institution’s financial position, growing our audience, increasing our presence in the community, and establishing partnerships with other leading arts organizations. Prior roles include President of the Harlem School of the Arts, Executive Director of the Center of Arts Education, Director of the New Jersey State Museum and Executive Director of the Visual Art Center of New Jersey. I am a former board member at the New Yorkers for Art and Culture I also served on committees for public art, and taught art classes at several colleges. I also served on the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Create New York Citywide Cultural Plan under Mayor Bill de Blasio. The arts and creative endeavors have always played a central role in my life. My paintings have been exhibited at the Wellesley College Museum, Detroit Artist Market, Sandy Webster Gallery, and the Transit Art Collection for the MTA.
