About Eric Punter

Having worked at sea for over 20 years, of which more than 12 years as Chief Officer / SDPO and QHSE officer in the offshore industry I have gained a broad knowledge in the nautical related disciplines onboard offshore vessels. Holding a Master Mariner Certificate of Competence, during these years I also relieved captains on several occasions. Fields of experience include planning and executing of DP-operations, vessel handling in harsh conditions and project planning and execution. Operations included SIMOPS and working close to subsea and surface structures. Other fields include ISM, auditing, legislation. Since 2011 I attended new built projects for DP2 vessels, starting from the commissioning phase up to sea trials, DP proving trials and the first operational phase. This also included setting up or improve ISM and QHSE systems. Based on the above, January 2014 I have started as a freelancer under the name of Punter Maritime Services. The core business is acting as a Maritime Operations Consultant, Marine Warranty Surveyor, vessel auditor, FMEA /DP trials inspector and accredited DP instructor.
