After finding a love for play-by-play, I enrolled in the American Broadcasting School in Oklahoma City to learn and develop skills for on-air work. Since graduating, I have provided play-by-play and color commentary full-time for hockey, basketball and football seasons, while also working games for baseball and soccer. Using play-by-play and news reporting, I’ve gained over one thousand followers on my Twitter account @ericrsports, in three years. I also have knowledge of Google+, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and Foursquare. My time in the military has taught me discipline, respect, and time management. I've been put in many leadership positions at various times, despite being a lower enlisted soldier. My training included learning to set up equipment for satellite communications, as well as the theory behind satellite and radio signals. After my initial training upon entering the military, I've cross-trained into other job specialties that have focused on terrestrial radios and antennas. Prior to enrolling in school at the American Broadcasting School, I worked in retail for four years, utilizing skills in time management and customer relations.
