About Eric Ramirez

Eric has spent over fifteen years working governments and donors using technology to improve public services and foster economic growth in Africa and Latin America. His professional experience includes digital transformation strategy design, policy and digital public infrastructure development, and stakeholder management at the national and international level. For five years he served as the Director of e-Government in El Salvador where he led policy discussions for national spectrum management and new laws including Open data, Personal Data protection and Electronic Government. Eric actively contributes to several regional networks including cross border information exchanges, digital identification and CRVS. He has spent the last two years designing and managing operations in multiple countries with USAID’s Data for Implementation mechanism, a 180 million digital health project currently supporting over twenty countries. He is also the Information Security lead for the project and is responsible for developing guidelines to secure development, implementation and operations at the national and local level. He is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French and has Masters in Business Administration from the University of Technology Sydney Australia and a Masters in Telecommunications from DePaul University, Chicago USA.
