Mr. Redman has 40+ years experience in the energy, electric power, and environmental sectors, with particular emphasis since 2001 on climate matters. Through Thunderbolt Clean Energy LLC, he advises clean energy and sustainability companies on commercialization and deployment of climate-friendly technologies and processes, and professional firms on expanding and reshaping their energy and infrastructure practices to recognize the climate change risks and opportunities facing their own clients. Mr. Redman also practices law as General Counsel of Sustainable Energy Ventures LLC, a developer of renewable natural gas (RNG) projects. As CEO of Summit Power Group, Mr. Redman led the company's development of wind, solar, and carbon capture projects, and he remains particularly active on carbon capture and electric power storage matters, including as the US member of the board of directors of the Global Carbon Capture & Storage Institute (GCCSI). He has worked extensively in the US, China, and the UK with major engineering firms, contractors, financing entities, and government policymakers. Earlier he led the Energy & Clean Tech practices of a major international law firm and was consistently named to "Best Lawyers in America" in energy. Previously Mr. Redman served as a legislative aide to the late U.S. Senator Warren G. Magnuson (D-WA) and wrote "The Dance of Legislation," a best-selling account of Congress enacting the National Health Service Corps. He was a Contributing Editor of Rolling Stone magazine and a frequent contributor to the New York Times, the Washington Post, Open Spaces magazine, and other publications. A lifelong Seattle resident, Mr. Redman was educated at Andover, Harvard College, Oxford University (as a Rhodes Scholar), and Harvard Law School. He is active in land preservation and salmon conservation matters. His wife Heather Redman is Co-Founder & Managing Director of Flying Fish Partners, an early stage venture capital firm investing in artificial intelligence.
