About Eric Ruckle

Growing up in Casper, I knew I wanted to see the world. In a college exchange program to London, I experienced a global hub city and made friends from around the world. Working in Los Angeles, I learned the speed of business (and the extreme slowness of traffic on the 405). For years, I was lucky to collaborate with brilliant people from brand-name companies like Boeing, Northrop Grumman, and Rocketdyne (who could honestly use phrases like “this isn’t rocket science"). Fascinated by the world of process improvement (because who isn’t), I dove into topics like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (because who wouldn’t). Seeing initiative after initiative fail, I wrote The People Side of Process Improvement and took it to "we're-definitely-not-in-Wyoming-anymore" places like Los Alamos National Laboratory and Merrill Lynch. This led to amazing projects under the National Institute of Standards and Technology and partnerships with professional associations like the National Management Association. In a moment of confusion that still mystifies people who know us, my high school sweetheart said “yes” to the big question. When our son started kindergarten, I’m thrilled to say our family had relocated from traffic jams and smog to open skies and clean air (even if that air does move faster than we’d all like).
