I have been an attorney for 35 years. In my early years I handled all sorts of cases, including criminal, zoning, appeals, real estate, and even one divorce case (that was plenty). In the early 1980's I was introduced to the area of bankruptcy. I was attracted to it immediately because of the sheer power of the bankruptcy law. In law school, what we studied was more or less "who wins the case?" or "who wins the judgment?" But then I found out that bankruptcy could effectively cancel judgments! So I was initially fascinated by the force of bankruptcy, but over the years I have become even more pleased by this area of practice because of the good it does for my clients. When I get "thank you" cards or letters from past clients telling me how much better their lives are, I know my career in bankruptcy law was well chosen.
