About Eric Santos

I have finished my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in the year 2009 and got licensed at the same year. I started working as a staff nurse in Operating Room at Eduardo L. Joson Memorial Hospital, it is a 100 Bed capacity secondary hospital in our city. Our unit has 2 Operating Rooms, and has a nurse patient ratio of 1:3. Daily average of cases is about 15 – 20 operations.The institution has also in house continuing training and updates. I have worked in the institution for 3 years (December 1, 2009 – January 27, 2013). And then I have decided to look for a workplace which can offer a better professional growth in my chosen line of speciality. I have decided look for a job overseas, and I have found a chance to work in Libya, in a Ministry of Health managed hospital in Benghazi. I have worked in a tertiary teaching hospital with 505 bed capacity namely: Hawari General Hospital. There I was assigned and trained in Neurosurgery and Orthopaedic Surgery Operating Theatre. Our department has 4 operating theatres and has a nurse patient ratio of 1:5. Our hospital offers training and seminars for continuing updates and professional advancement with joined efforts of medical companies. Our average operative case per day is 15 – 20 per day. I had worked in this institution for 1 year and 7 months (January 27, 2013 – August 28, 2014). But the peace and order situation in the city was deteriorating fast I have decided to leave and repatriate back to my country. Until an overseas job opportunity came. Now I presently work at Pacific International Hospital in Papua New Guinea. It is a tertiary private hospital in the centre of Port Moresby, which offers multi – speciality medical treatments in the City.
