Background

About Eric Sawyer

I'm an analytic and data scientist working to apply techniques from machine learning and neural networks to better people's lives. I have experience in all aspects of the machine learning pipeline, from data engineering, to software development, to model design and training. In my PhD, I studied Theoretical Physics at UCLA, researching how scattering amplitudes can shed light on high-energy processes like black hole mergers and the interactions of fundamental particles. My work involved performing complex calculations with an eye toward unravelling the structure of the theory and looking for patterns which simplify our understanding.
