About Eric Schneider

At the heart of all successful companies, businesses, organizations, are its people. In my role as a leader, my team's have realized success when the team members have felt ownership and responsibility for their role in the team's success and celebrate those successes as their own. I have learned that grounding my team in core values—integrity, honesty, responsibility, ownership—and empowering them to make decisions has made the successes more impactful and long-standing. Collaboration, reaching agreements, setting expectations, and accountability are critical skills that I practice and teach. In lockstep with these interpersonal skills, is establishing a culture of safety and operating discipline. Stop work authority, keeping the small things small, correcting at risk behaviors, risk analysis, following procedures, completing assigned tasks with intention and fully, help establish the foundation. In addition to skill sets for managing people and establishing a culture of safety and operating discipline, I have expertise in the following skills related to successfully managing an operations organization: budget development and management, cost control, HSES management and regulatory compliance; crisis management and emergency response; achieving production goals through efficient and reliable operation through continuous improvement and KPIs, root cause investigations, preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance, capital improvement projects, turnaround management, outreach through community and government relations, amongst others. And as a chemical engineer, problem solving is a passion and skill that has allowed me to work across all technical disciplines in finding solutions.
