About Eric Seidel

Eric Seidel is one of the best known attorneys and media personalities in the Bay Area. For nearly 20 years, Eric was FOX 13′s Consumer Lawyer targeting scams, frauds and consumer rip-offs. Eric championed fair play and consumer causes while taking on scam artists who give honest businesses a bad name. Since 2013, Eric has served on Hillsborough County's Value Adjustment Board. Created by Florida Statutes, the VAB provides citizens a forum to address complaints when they believe the Property Appraiser has over assessed their property or improperly denied an exemption or classification, or the Tax Collector improperly denied a tax deferral. The Board hires qualified attorneys and appraisers to conduct hearings on these complaints and make recommendations. The Board meets to act on these recommendations. Eric also is also an Appointee to the Hillsborough County Citizen's Advisory Committee. This Committee advises the Board of County Commissioners on community issues and ensures that Commissioners receive citizen input on a wide variety of issues that directly affect residents. In 2015, Eric was a candidate for the office of Hillsborough Clerk of Circuit Court, seeking to use his experience to make it more user-friendly for its consumers, the citizens of Hillsborough. Eric has won numerous awards in law and broadcasting: The Society of Professional Journalists Award of Excellence, The American Bar Association’s Local Government Award, and the Florida Bar Media Award among many others. Eric has been given special recognition in County proclamations, as well as being publicly thanked for his work by Florida’s Governor, Attorney General, several State Attorneys, and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, which has bestowed upon him the title of Honorary Sheriff.
