I have a bachelor's degree in English/Creative Writing, which I have used primarily to advance my career within both the Caterpillar Dealer Organization and Caterpillar Inc. as an Asset and Inventory Manager, Technical Writer, Field Support Engineer for Hydraulic Attachments, and Marketing Consultant for Caterpillar Filters and Service Fluids. Additionally, I have had varying levels of experience as a small business owner (farming), entrepreneur (rental housing), facilities maintenance management, aircraft instrumentation, design and repair of building support systems (water, gas, electrical, sewer, and structural repair), and off-highway/on-highway vehicle maintenance and overhaul. I have extensive experience with real world/real time problem solving and implementation of ICA (Interim Corrective Actions) and PCA (Permanent Corrective Actions) in time sensitive environments which require utilization of on-hand or scavenged materials to fabricate repair components "by hand" in order to return equipment to operational status. I have led, participated on, or otherwise influenced a wide array of multi-disciplinary teams without any direct managerial authority bye engendering the trust of my team members, respecting the diversity of each members experience and opinions, and utilizing communication techniques and strategies tailored to each individuals creative, emotional, and mental needs.
