About Eric Shuman
Eric Shuman is the Experiential Learning Coordinator and an Adjunct Instructor at North Central College, assisting faculty with designing, implementing and assessing programs such as Community-Engaged Learning, Career Readiness, Student Research and College Scholars. His scholarly background is in culture and knowledge traditions, with ongoing research interests in the the intersection of knowledge and power along borders or frontiers. At NC, Mr Shuman has taught courses on ancient Mediterranean mythology, world religions, and human ecology. Most recently, he led an experiential course on stargazing, and he is currently teaching the Environmental Studies community-based capstone course in Spring 2024. Mr Shuman enjoys home cooking, tabletop gaming and outdoors adventuring with his wife Chandreyee and their two rescued dogs Khara and Ozymandias P Cheesecakes. He received his BA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and his MA in Classical Antiquity from the University of Colorado Boulder.
