About Eric Smith

For over two decades, I have been active in emergency response and public safety, working in various roles and settings, from EMS and law enforcement to search and rescue and disaster response. I have led and coordinated several projects and operations involving multiple agencies and organizations, and have trained and mentored others in this field. Currently, I am an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator at Renown Health, where I plan, implement, and evaluate emergency preparedness activities for the health system. I am also a volunteer leader and mentor with Team Rubicon, a non-profit organization that deploys veterans and civilians to disaster zones. As a Planning Section Chief and a Mission Planning Team Coordinator, I oversee the development and execution of incident action plans, and provide guidance and support to other planners and volunteers. In addition, I am pursuing my master's degree in Security and Disaster Management at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, to expand my skills and knowledge in this domain. My ultimate goal is to combine my past experiences and education to make a positive impact in emergency management and disaster response.
