About Eric Soehner

I work with a talented team of finance professionals. Reporting to the CFO, Group Retirement Services, I lead the Financial Planning & Analysis, Expense and Business Analytic functions for Group Retirement Services. I've spent my career working with Canadian retirement plans. Most recently, I led a team of pension experts committed to helping Canadian employers reduce the risks of their defined benefit pension plans. I started my career in consulting, where I helped employers manage their HR programs and offered strategic guidance as pension actuary and trusted advisor. I graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Honours Actuarial Science and am a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. My specialized expertise includes defined benefit pension plans, actuarial pricing of annuity products, risk management and pension regulatory requirements.
