About Eric Solliday

I have always been fascinated with technology. I was one of those kids that took things apart and try to reassemble them; clocks, transistor radios, toys just to see how they worked. I wasn't always successful, but my next attempts were tamed with experience. My parents were supportive of this as long as I didn't take anything apart that was important. They eventually gifted me an "electronics experimenter kit". This is what sparked my love of tech. My college studies focused on the application of tech, giving me a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. Over my career, I have worked in a variety of areas; Industrial Controls, DoD Suppliers, Consumer Electronics, Nuclear Control Systems, Gaming Industry, and Utility Suppliers. My first career position was in industrial control systems, where my responsibility was to design test equipment. My mentor at the time imparted this wisdom which has stuck with me;"Learning never ends. What you learned in college was HOW TO LEARN, and to KEEP LEARNING." I have enjoyed many positions throughout my career in test management and have many experiences that have shaped who I am today. My personal and professional experiences have taught me the following about myself: I can successfully align, lead, and grow successful test teams, world-wide - I love my wins, but the greater win is when the team is successful - Focused on growing my team by implementing training opportunities such as the Udemy Business Platform- The buck always stops with me I educate, refine and drive myself to be a better person - I am constantly researching new topics - I focus on making high-quality decisions - Don't fear disclosing unpopular findings, such as a project that is at high-risk of failure I have have been successful in a variety of technologies - Software Testing - Embedded Firmware Testing - Automated Testing - Functionality and Performance Testing - Database and Business Analytics Testing
