About Eric Thiessen

I am the father of three wonderful, smart and respectful kids. I am married to a beautiful, intelligent woman that is also my best friend. I love spending time with my family and wish I could spend more time with them. One of my best and worst features is my work ethic. I feel the need to be constantly working to provide the best possible life for my family. This same work ethic also keeps me away more than I would like. I am a people person with a very positive attitude. I can usually be found with a smile on my face. My positive attitude can have a contagious effect on the people around me. While I was the owner of a collateral recovery company my attitude was my most valuable asset. I could diffuse most hostile situation by talking to the people involved with respect and emphasizing with them and smiling. My true passion is helping people. I have been a firefighter most of my adult life. I became a paramedic to increase my ability to help people have a positive outcome to what could be the worst situation in their life. I love training and learning new things. I also enjoy sharing the things I have learned with other people. I currently use my skills as a volunteer with the Boone County Fire Protection District. I also enjoy working with heavy equipment and construction. I started out in my current career as a heavy equipment operator, but eventually moved over to the mobilization side of the business. I quickly realized I my talent was better suited at maneuvering an oversized load in and through ridiculous places that machinery that size was never meant to go. I enjoy the challenge involved in getting in and out of new places and loading different equipment. I also enjoy the logistics and planning the most efficient way to move multiple pieces. I am not happy unless I am doing something that challenges me.
