My energy is driven by working with thought-provoking and aspiring teams of current or future leaders working toward common goals. Satisfaction comes from achieving desired results and celebrating that success, then repeat. Each of my positions over the last 15+ years has been at the request of executive leadership to either take over a troubled business area or establish a new department. Building or restructuring each of these operations from the foundation up. Experience has been that the people doing the work are the experts. They know best what they do, what’s working, and what’s not. I help them identify those roadblocks, learn principles of lean, how to use the right tools, and practice problem-solving to ensure we get to the root cause. Understanding past failures are lessons for future success. With a focus on continuous improvement, I enjoy working with “the boots on the ground” to identify the current-state, baseline, or benchmark. To know if we are winning or losing, we have to know the score. To get buy-in, I challenge the status quo and old adages. I involve and empower the employees to give them a “what’s in it for them” or more importantly a “why”. Having employee and executive leadership buy-in, has been at the foundation of each of my success stories. Simply put, I take pleasure in creating sanity out of chaos. My leadership career has been based on understanding the current-state, identifying areas of opportunity, problem-solving, implementing change, measuring success, and adjusting accordingly. All of which is led and made possible by my respect for people.
