About Eric Tong

I am an energetic commercial analyst who specialise in financial modelling, large volume data analysis, project management, risk management and problem resolution. Since 2015, I have developed in-depth social service knowledge in housing and homelessness services, early childhood education, child protection, and disability services. Prior to 2015, I worked in various energy market roles (contestable pricing analyst, supply risk analyst, and financial performance analyst) and developed extensive supply chain industry knowledge of the Australian electricity market. I have also worked as financial analyst in public finance, vehicle fleet management and vocational education sectors. I am a self-motivated laborious professional with high level interpersonal and leadership skills to work with broad section of personnel to develop new opportunities and to drive efficiency. Key accomplishments include:(1) Establish myself as subject matter expert in social housing, child protection, disability services, financial and data modelling within QTC to mentor and coach staff in executing projects in these areas.(2) Led a project team of QTC staff and external consultants to identify productivity opportunities of social service programs.(3) Developed social investment category framework to enable quick reference of broad objectives of government services.(4) Managed a small team of energy market specialists to deliver efficient and relevant electricity market financial advice.(5) Project managed a financial analysis project to look into the financial impact of merging three business entities into two.(6) Detailed financial data analysis of a subsidy program which led to reform in the program funding.(7) Project managed electricity distribution network infrastructure capital expenditure reporting system using SAP and SAP Business Warehouse at a major New South Wales distribution network service provider.(8) Developed contestable pricing that complied with risk management policies for a major retailer when the New South Wales small customer electricity market was open to competition.
