About Eric Topolnisky

As Regional Director of Operations, I oversee the day-to-day Property Management functions and operations at our properties in Eastern Canada including Ottawa, Gatineau, Kingston, Sudbury, Timmins and Fredericton. My top priority is delivering an excellent customer experience to the millions of customers and tenants that visit our centres every year. Simply put, I ensure that our Property Management team is moving forward and in sync with RioCan’s priorities in a positive and collaborative environment. I am a retail real estate operations professional with a passion for doing things right and leading teams. I have a broad real estate background and a depth of experience across multiple asset classes and retail formats including enclosed shopping centres, mixed-use retail, fashion outlets, and grocery-anchored/necessity-based power centres. Throughout my career, I’ve been successful at integrating the knowledge I’ve gathered within each of these asset classes and have brought the benefit of these experiences to my various roles in this industry. I joined RioCan in 2014 as General Manager of Tanger Outlets where I led the startup, launch, and grand opening of our newly built outlet centre. My role changed in 2019 when I became Regional Director of Operations and again in 2022 when I took on the enhanced scope of being RioCan’s market leader in Ottawa. My current portfolio of assets includes over 50 different business units and >5.5M sq. ft. of income producing retail. As of April 2024, I also represent RioCan and all other retail focused landlords as a Board Member at BOMA Ottawa. My passion is helping property management teams meet their full potential. As a leader, I strive to always create an engaging environment where employees encouraged and supported in their growth.
