About Eric Trillaud

For as long as I can remember, I have always immersed myself in the world of sports, whether as a player/runner or by keeping myself up to date with results, developments and inquests through new articles and equipments. Sports science has captured my interest since I was young, and my interest has grown even stronger as I grew up. I have always been intrigued by the mechanism by which a professional athlete could excel in her/his respective sport. Lately, the Kenyan marathoner Eliud Kipochoge and the ultra runner Kilian Jornet have been real inspirations for me. Their contributions to the world of science and exercise physiology as well as commitments to running are truly impressive. Thanks to my studies, I have built a deep understanding of the foundation of sports, ranging from sports physiology, to biomechanics and to the design of sport equipment. Putting knowledge and passion together, I had the chance to understand these systems and conduct several research projects at the University of Savoie Mont-Blanc in France in the pursuit of my Master degree. These studies allowed me to answer many questions regarding the physiological adaptations of human body through physical exercise; but mostly to realize that so many have yet to be answered. During my years at university, I was fortunate to meet and discuss these collaborative interactions with incredible professors. Without their advice and guidance, I would not be at this juncture of my career. Recently, I have found myself interested in running, both as an athlete and a scientist. In the future, I intend to grow as a Sport Scientist and translate my work into industry. Sports science has that capacity to push and challenge athletes as well as researchers. The way they helped each other is very intriguing and stimulating.
