About Eric Valdez

I’ve been drawing and doing random artsy things ever since I was a kid. That all ramped up when I got obsessed with comics. Eventually, I was doing nothing but drawing superheroes and their logos. Then I bought my first punk album and found a whole new obsession. Fast-forward to my early-20s — I’m in charge of an elementary school library and encouraged to use the school’s art supplies to decorate it. That unleashed the dormant visually creative part of me and somehow I wound up in a bunch of art shows all around L.A. During that time I began going back to school at Pasadena City College and took a couple of art classes. It was then that I decided to pursue graphic design instead of the pop art nonsense that I thought I was getting away with. I eventually transferred to ArtCenter College of Design’s Graphic Design program, where I was able to grow beyond a cliché punk rock cut-and-paste punk aesthetic and weave new influences into my work. While at ArtCenter I discovered ways to create visually striking and thought-provoking work that engages audiences in physical and digital spaces. Since graduating from ArtCenter in 2017 I’ve had the opportunity to work on projects for Google and Warner Music at SPMDesign, and create a brand identity for Xelas; a craft beer bar and music venue in Boyle Heights, L.A. Most recently, I’ve been a graphic designer for C3 Entertainment where I’ve had the opportunity get to work on various Three Stooges-related projects and the company’s streaming service, Valorous TV. I also have great taste in music, know more about Batman than most people, and dig standing in line for pop-up events.
