Eric leads the R&D department within Graydon Belgium, a specialist in data-analytics and developing algorithms based on company data. Last decade, he concentrates mainly on insights based on extensive Graydon datasets, Big Data and Communitydata: he develops new algorithms who express themselves about the ‘probability of anything’. E.g; algorithms expressing the activity degree of a company, the probability of a company committing fraud, the probability of a company being involved in crime such as human trafficking or money laundry, the probability of developing absenteeism, … His aim is to "make intangibles (the real value of a company) tangible'""Data provide us figures and facts that lead to concrete insights. An opportunity for decisionmakers to strategize trough facts, not based on wild assumptions. to steer our social tissue towards more social justice, fair play and social welfare" Based on his observations during the Brussels terrorist attacks in 2016 -he observed companies behaviour in an 'economy in discontinuity'- he created the ‘shockresiliance’ algorithms ', firmly developed and introduced on webbased platforms by the entire Graydon-Belgium team. The insights from this algorithm are used by the national crisistaskforce and the Belgian governmental levels to understand and master the Covid-crisisimpact on our companies, and provides major insights in how to rebuild the aftermath and generating a better shock resilience to our companies…. In short, he's one on those Graydonteam-members providing insights based on mutliple data. Insights that largely support companies in their decision making processes as well as governments in their aim towards a healthier growth of society. From this point of view Eric has a particular interest in ethical questions related to A.I. Major experiences in developing credit management systems for larger companies and SME’s. He developed analytic instruments: integrated credit score systems, predictive algorithms to define debacle or success for companies, creditlimits, … Co-founder of the institute for creditmanagement at the Vlerick Business School. Member of the trade research group of the Belgian Judges for Trade-matters Association (U.R.H.B.). Member of the EU expert network ‘Early Warning Europe ‘ Made part of a large number of academic and governmental research groups. Lectured at universities and post-graduate programs.
