Background
About Eric Wagenhals
Most recently worked as a Senior Server Engineer at Seattle University. In the past, I have assisted an Identity & Access Management (IT Security) team while it was transitioning to a new management platform. I've worn many hats over the years, and consider myself a Systems Administrator with current experience in the following infrastructure: Virtualized Windows Servers (Exchange, Active Directory, Deployment Services, CAs, etc.), NetApp and Drobo SAN, Dell & HP physical servers, HP switches, VLANs, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Veeam, BackupExec, Altiris, Worldox, and more. During my time at SeattleU, I was also a member of a small DevOps team dedicated to building out an Amazon Web Services (AWS) extension to our existing on-premises environment.Examples of competence include- Designed an algorithmic firewall (leveraging PowerShell) to detect and automatically respond to network intrusions- Automated complex maintenance routines via coordination with the software development team and creation / synchronization of WSUS, Group Policies, and a series of startup / notification scripts- Automated manual processes to expedite Exchange / Active Directory account management and archival tasks using PowerShell- Became a subject matter expert in Symantec Management Platform: Altiris and Ghost (Deployment Automation Solutions).Lately, I've been keeping up-to-date by actively taking a role on projects related to Amazon Web Services, and expanding my knowledge of the Cisco UCS Management platform.
