Background
About Eric Wei
Hello, I'm Eric Wei, Co-founder & CEO of MoveEz. We're on the mission in bringing freedom of Mobility. and bridging the transportation gap. On the journey from Kanazawa to the world, we're confident with our autonomous technology to be the safest AI driver in the world. Can't wait to see you on the road! Born and raised in Taiwan, I specialized in systems engineering and supply chain management. My career includes leadership roles at global companies like Amazon, Google, DiDi Mobility Japan, and foodpanda Japan. In 2021, I founded Dimes. The Story Behind Dimes Growing up, I was a passionate basketball player. Basketball is a team sport where the "assist" is crucial. In the U.S, a great assist is called a "dime." My father, an entrepreneur, taught me to be a person who creates opportunities for others, not just one who takes a salary. This spirit, combined with my love for the "assist," inspired the name Dimes. I believe business is a team sport, and I want to be the one giving a "pass" to others. My career has been built on the assists I’ve received, and now it's my turn to give back. Why I Started My Company While working in Japan, I realized that many talented people were in jobs that didn't leverage their unique skills. My mission with Dimes is to create a system that properly utilizes people's talents. We launched "timely skillmarket," a marketplace where individuals can offer their skills to those who need them. This creates a positive cycle where people earn income while helping others grow. Assisting Japanese Businesses I've observed that while Japanese companies have strengths like meticulousness and sincerity, they can struggle with fast-paced innovation. Drawing on my experience at global companies, I give lectures to help Japanese organizations and talent transform their culture. In 2024, we partnered with Germany's PINKTUM to offer "timely learning," a service that helps companies build crucial soft business skills. In 2025, we launched "timely assist," a RAG-based AI chatbot to help with knowledge transfer. My vision is to build a society where people in Japan and around the world can leverage their talents, learn, grow, and become a hero for someone else. I’m an outside director for GrandTech Cloud Services and Table Cross and am eager to connect with those interested in helping foreign companies enter Japan or Japanese companies expand globally. Please feel free to reach out if you have any ideas for collaboration.
