About Eric Whitney

Eric (Ric) Whitney was employed full time at E. F. Whitney, Inc. from June 1980 until January 2022, when EFW, Inc. closed its doors after 58 years of serving the food service design industry. For more than 41 years, his daily responsibilities include kitchen design, project management, specification writing, budget estimating, AutoCAD drawing, bid analysis and punch lists. He been involved in all project phases from preliminary design to final working drawings and bid documents. Prior to his EFW, Inc. experiences, Ric completed a degree in Hospitality Management, which included two years of culinary school. In February 2022, Ric accepted the position of Senior Food Service Designer at TMP Architecture, Inc, a large architectural firm in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan with a focus on K-12 and college/university projects. EFW, Inc. has partnered with TMP over the past 58 years as a food design consultant on thousands of school projects. It was a natural fit to have Ric become part of TMP and continue providing top-notch planning and design in this specialized area of food service design.
