About Eric Woodshank

I began my college education as a psychology major gaining a better background in interpersonal communication, but I found my skills to be better suited for a field involving mathematics and critical thinking. I then changed my major to mathematics where I gained significant knowledge in calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, and many other facets of math that transferred into a career path in engineering. I was successful in my engineering courses and I know I will be able to use my understanding of thermodynamic systems and/or stress and fracture mechanics to continue my successes at your company. I am currently taking part in an engineering internship where I work in silicate and hydrogel production factories for the PQ Corporation. With this internship, I have been able to sharpen my ability to read process plans and blueprints as well as gain hands on experience with heavy machinery such as industrial motors, pumps, and actuation systems. My ability to remain calm under pressure paired with my exceptional problem-solving skills has proved to be quite effective in completing the tasks that have been assigned to me. While previously having no background in an industrial setting, I was able to quickly adapt and acquire the knowledge necessary to compile a list of important components along the critical path for two separate production cycles along with the knowledge to effectively explain the completed processes of each production process. I have also utilized my background in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCad to produce CAD sketches, 3D models, and MS Excel organized calculations for a prototype pneumatic mill leg and a screw conveyor system.
