About Eric Yates

Eric Yates is an Environmental, Health, and Safety professional with over 27 years experience in the construction industry. His career began in high end residential construction achieving advancements through quality and leadership. In 2002, Eric became the owner of a small residential contracting company in Western North Carolina. This eventually led to his position as Vice President of Y&J Homes, Inc. in 2006. While at Y&J Homes, Eric expanded the organization's customer base and increased revenue within the first year with a primary focus on luxury homes projects. In 2010, Eric accepted a position as Health, Safety, and Environmental Director at NuWeld, Inc. located in Williamsport, PA. In this position, Eric developed a comprehensive safety management system tailored to the organizations work in the energy sector including, the oil and gas industry, as well as, the nuclear industry. He served as a member on several committees and associations including, STEPS of PA, National Safety Council, Veriforce, and the Marcellus Shale Coalition. Currently, Eric is an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager for Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc. located in Wilmington, NC specializing in large infrastructure projects in the southeast, southwest and mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. He successfully manages the corporate safety program across multiple large scale heavy highway, bridge and water/waste water projects. He is an active member of the Carolina's AGC, SSTM for the NC DOL, and a member of the National Safety Council.
