About Erica Martin

I am a mom to three powerful young women who provide constant inspiration and endless writing material. As a school counselor, I developed a passion for growing healthy self-esteem in middle school girls, never imagining the fully immersive experience that awaited me in motherhood. Every professional counseling skill I possess has been put into daily use as we navigate the terrain of elementary, middle, and high school. What started as a social media experiment of making no effort to "conceal the crazy" has turned into a platform for community and deep connection. Drawing from my experience as a ghost writer, I am able to listen to another person's story and find the connecting thread. I specialize in pulling the pieces of a story that connect us to one another, in a world that often feels increasingly singular. And while all of that sounds quite serious, for me humor is the vessel that holds it all together, both professionally and personally. The desire to cultivate lasting relationships and create meaningful instruction led me to Luminance. As a developer, I support and advance the performance of others by creating interactive, visually appealing training material. I also get to meet some pretty exceptional people in the process. Whether the need is content creation or technical writing, I am able to synthesize my creative writing background and counseling experience to convey a message and connect with the desired audience. And in a household full of AMPLE words and feelings, I have a constant opportunity to keep these skills sharp.
