About Erick Jarquin

Erick Jarquin is a junior at Florida State University, majoring in International Affairs and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences with a concentration in Social Entrepreneurship. His interest for international affairs stems from his passion for cultural immersion and learning about cultures different from his own. He often credits his upbringing in Miami, Florida for his first exposure to the rather large Hispanic/Latinx diaspora. Upon attending Florida State University, Erick discovered a passion for serving his community through the Hispanic Latinx Student Union on campus. Throughout his time within this organization, Erick has been able to not only been able to strengthen the outreach to Hispanic/Latinx students on campus, but also serve as an advocate for his community in which he has been able to work towards creating bilingual graduation materials and improving on-campus resources to better serve Hispanic/Latinx students. After graduation, Erick aspires to work with an organization where he can commit to hands-on, tangible changes to improve the wellbeing of his community, whether this be through political advocacy work or any opportunity to provide aid.
