About Erick Torres

From through 2005, I ran my own small web design and video productions business while living in Palm Beach County, FL. In 2005, I moved back to Northern Virginia after being hired by America Online as a NOC Analyst. While with AOL, I gained a wealth of knowledge in large scale Data Center Operations, Applications Engineering (AOL Mail, ICQ, Instant Messenger) and Linux Systems Administration. I built long lasting relationships with my customers and peers. AOL had an amazing work culture, valued teamwork, diversity, and career growth. In 2008, I decided to work as a UNIX (Solaris, RHEL) Systems Administrator with RealNetworks, Inc, located in Reston, VA. Working here was a blessing, I learned all about telecom networking (SS7, SIP, RTP) and engineering, Web and Mobile storefronts, and managed the Ringback Tone (RBT) architectures, working closely with our development team as well as supporting Senior Level Telecom engineers from our customers at T-Mobile, Verizon, Alltel, Sprint, MetroPCS, etc. as well as working as 24/7 on call for RBT and web storefront services. While with BAE Systems, I was hired as a Senior UNIX Administrator, took on a Lead position, and finished my career there as a Technical Manager supporting the Enterprise Control Center (Network Operations Center). After BAE, I ventured on to working as a Senior Storage Engineer for Dell and NTT Data, SME for providing Data Protection solutions utilizing Commvault and ITM for the U.S.Nuclear Regulatory Commission. In 2017, I joined Intellidyne, LLC as Backup Ops Systems Engineer supporting the DoD Defense Health Agency (DHA). My experience here has been extremely rewarding. Since then, my role has been a myriad of things, supporting the agency through many projects as Backup Ops SME, Senior Storage and Systems Engineer, and now a member of NSS Incident and Problem Management team. In 2023. I was the proud recipient of Intellidyne’s Culture Award. The work culture at IntelliDyne is one that I am proud to be a part of. We are a People-First-IT company.
