Companies, organizations, or individuals no longer need to search the coasts for cutting-edge creativity. The Midwest has come into its own, and mid-sized cities are bursting with competitive talent and ideas. Kansas City, with its blossoming arts community and growing urban core, serves as an appropriate microcosm. I have been part of this transition and growth – professionally and personally – for more than 15 years. In my latest position as Associate Creative Director at Fleishman-Hillard Inc, my primary responsibilities were to develop various materials for internal and external clients. My client list included Great Plains Energy, Black & Veatch, Bayer Animal Health, Deffenbaugh, and numerous global pharmaceutical and biotech companies. I created logos, direct mail pieces, brochures, annual reports, tool kits, consumer/patient materials, Web designs and advertising campaigns using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and Power Point. My well-honed skill set and team orientation enabled me to satisfy client needs and exceed their expectations. It was challenging work and great fun.
