About Ericka Hammett

My primary practice is insurance coverage and defense matters. I defend national and regional insurance company clients and their policyholders in complex commercial litigation. In addition, I advise insurer clients on defense and indemnity obligations under a variety of commercial property and liability policies, including personal injury, first- and third-party property damage and professional liability polices. I also devote a significant portion of my practice to defending financial institution clients confronted with state and federal law claims and counterclaims in foreclosure litigation and bankruptcy proceedings. I have had the privilege and opportunity to develop relationships with our clients that foster trust and beneficial resolution in a wide variety of cases, whether they are appropriate for settlement or trial. I enjoy amicable relations with opposing counsel wherever possible while vigorously defending our clients' interests. I value meticulous attention to detail, courtesy in interactions with my clients, courts and counsel, and attorney-client communication, above all else.
