About Erik Hals

I like learning digital tools with a team of likeminded people. We then use the tools to incite awe, create understanding and change minds. With digital tools, we create visual stories that depict a better future and develop interactive experiences that trigger curiosity. With graphic softwares, we build visual universes for brands. Colors, patterns, symbols and 3D objects. I write manuscripts and draw storyboards, then iterate with my team towards a cinematic treat for the eyes. With game engines, we develop experiences that respond to the push of a button, the touch of a finger or the movement of your head. Where you can try, fail and try again. Where you decide the direction, pace and color of your experience. We use the same engines to create living backgrounds for movie productions, all inside the studio on an LED screen. Car scenes without having to close entire roads, space scenes without needing a rocket. We create worlds inside Unreal and track the camera for a full virtual production. My interest in cinematography makes it fun for me to help the director achieve his goals. Small scripts become libraries of tools that makes the process ever faster and easier. Mistakes become lessons, making us better prepared for next time. I thrive when I know I have helped my team make something great. Which it does, all the time.
