About Erik Hamburg

I am a hard working and dedicated recruiting assistant that works directly with members of our coaching staff to identify and recruit football players to the University of Washington. My experience includes being a student assistant for the Eastern Washington University football team as well as coaching 6A high school football for several years in Oregon. In our first year at the University of Washington our staff took the team from 4-8 to 11-2 and defeated Texas in the Valero Alamo Bowl. That season gave me the opportunity to learn from a world class coaching staff that created a winning, family culture in a short period of time. I learned the meaning of hard work early as I grew up working on the commercial fishing boats in Alaska from the age of 11. Experience with long hours, dangerous conditions and the need for exacting detail help me to stay calm under pressure and perform when it matters most. I do not shy away from tough jobs or long hours and I can find a way to bring a team together even under the worst conditions.
