About Erik Oberg

I'm proud to be a Center Operations Manager with the USO, where I manage operations at the Wright-Patterson AFB USO Center and USO outreach across the Miami Valley. Our mission at the USO is to strengthen the well-being of the people who serve in the United States Military and their families. Our staff and volunteers run a dynamic USO centers at WPAFB, where service members and families can relax and connect with one another and take part in impactful and supportive programming. We also reach out WPAFB to deliver programming and support our active duty, guard, and reserve military members and their families throughout Ohio. As a military veteran and military spouse who has worked in a variety of industries and lived in a variety of cultures. I combine a technical background in geospatial technologies with a unique blend of professional, volunteer, educational and life experiences and highly polished public speaking and writing skills. In addition to my work at the USO, I have ample experience engaging both internal and external customers in a nonprofit environment. I served as the Chair of the Board of Directors at an independent school in Alexandria, VA, I helped lead a 230-member community service organization for several years at WPAFB, and I currently oversee the operation of a local Scout Troop as Scoutmaster of Troop 162 in Fairborn, OH. I pride myself on my ability to carefully listen, assess needs, and propose solutions as I establish productive, collaborative, win-win relationships, whether as a team leader or team member, or simply one-on-one. Above all, I show integrity and practice kindness in all that I do.
