About Erik Pasternak

I believe building great products comes from building great teams and focusing them on the right problems. My main motivation comes from empowering and developing teams to make them happier and more effective. I enjoy learning about individuals' goals and ambitions and working with them to align their interests with business needs and coaching them on the problems they face individually and as part of the broader team. When I've done my job well, my team understands the business needs and has the skills and agency to solve problems as they come up. I rely on my wide range of experience to allow me to work with teams in a variety of areas. I've worked in robotics, mobile, frameworks, web apps, L&D, and education on a variety of tech stacks. I've also managed teams of varying sizes and filled multiple roles as needed, including writing business cases & PRDs, presenting to VPs, meeting with stakeholders and users, and developing CUJs. My breadth of experience allows me to quickly ramp up and understand a team's problem space and to connect it to business needs and user journeys to effectively prioritize and make trade-offs.
