About Erik Ramsey

I am about Leadership and Supporting others, but am also one to follow a good leader. I have been directly or indirectly involved in helping train and supervise others for many years. For me, there's nothing better than seeing someone else succeed and knowing I played a part. I readily accept a challenge and will often seek a problem to solve. My initiative and work ethic are solid and I, admittedly, enjoy a higher pace. Although frustrating at times, I believe I perform at a higher level under some pressure. I possess a higher than average knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access because these skills are self-taught due to my interest and willingness to learn. I have been learning all my life; It is something I embrace. I feel it's never too late to obtain knowledge or a new skill. If there's one weakness I continuously work to improve, it would be my patience of others. This may seem contradictory for someone who previously stated he enjoys training others. I have much patience for someone who is not expected to know any better. My patience tends to lack for those who are at a level where they should be competent and knowledgeable, but are not. Also, I don't tolerate laziness well. Companies and Agencies set performance standards and we should strive to meet or exceed those standards, just my opinion. Either way, this is something I continue to work on about myself. Fifteen years ago, I had a saying stenciled on my training guide book cover when I was a Field Training Officer."Expect of them, Demand of Yourself" I have and continued to live by those words to this day and if that has helped me make a difference to someone, make them better, I'll take it.
