About Erik Rieger

I work at the intersection of soil resources, agriculture, and climate, translating natural science and carbon market needs into management action. I possess knowledge and research experience in the interrelated fields of soil science, hydrology, landscape ecology, and geospatial science, and applications of modeling, monitoring, decision analysis, and conservation planning. I bring systems thinking to workflow development, am adept in technical and nontechnical writing and communication, and thrive in complex stakeholder environments that require strong attention to both people and project management. I hold a Master of Environmental Management (MEM) in Ecosystem Science & Conservation and certificate in Geospatial Analysis from Duke University ('21) and a B.A. from Colorado College ('12). I serve adjunctly as Senior Editor of the American Alpine Journal, the world’s preeminent record of climbing and mountain exploration, on the board for Colorado College's Ritt Kellogg Memorial Fund, and on the Surfrider Foundation' Blue Water Task Force.
