About Erik Salomons
Since 1992 I work at TNO Delft in the fields of atmospheric acoustics and noise control. My recent work includes various aspects of the broader field of sustainable urban planning. My PhD work and postdocs in the period 1985-1992 were in the field of physics of solids and fluids. My scientific knowledge is applied at TNO in projects for clients. An example is a current project for the US Transportation Research Board, on meteorological effects on highway noise and implications for the US traffic noise model. In 2001 my book Computational Atmospheric Acoustics appeared, and copies are still being sold in many countries. My scientific articles include 40 first-author articles in peer-reviewed journals, and have 2252 citations with citation index h=27 (Google Scholar).
