About Erik Schuring

9 years at TNO-Metal Research Institute (now TNO Industry & technology). Since 1997 employed at ECN (Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands) in Petten. Worked in materials science in the fields of Failure analyses, Materials advice, Corrosion and Wear, Coating Technology, Brazing and Soldering, Welding (aluminium, steel and stainless steels). As of 1st of April 2018 ECN Sustainable energy joined forces with TNO under the name of ECN part of TNO. As of 1st of Januari our unit changed it's name into TNO Energy Transition. We focus on the development and implementation of sustainable energy solutions. Familiar with microscopy techniques (Optical, Scanning electron microscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Confocal microscopy. Mechanical testing and physical analyses. Active as secretary in the Bond voor Materialenkennis for VeMet (Vereniging Metalen), and Fractograpy. Secretary of Contactgroup High Temperature Vacuum Brazing. Participant in High temperature (Creep committee of the Bond voor Materialenkennis) and Corrosion. I ran several project in the field of materials science.
