About Erik Skarstad

I am a business executive with experience running the transfer pricing (“TP”) function at two Fortune 100 companies. I led strategy, advised on operations, mitigated risk using documentation and other compliance tools, and worked globally to manage controversy. I also developed expertise in the media and entertainment and consumer goods industries. I started my TP career as a staff person at a Big Four firm and was promoted three times to positions of increasing responsibility where I advised multinational companies in the technology, telecom, financial services, and healthcare industries. Early in my career, I worked in strategy consulting and investment banking. My strengths include leadership and team development, cross-functional collaboration, financial modeling and economic analysis, global supply chain planning, and mergers and acquisition diligence. Our TP teams consistently achieved cost savings of $1-3 million on professional fees annually and obtained certainty on more than $5 billion in intercompany transactions working directly with tax authorities on Advance Pricing Agreements (“APA”). Over the course of my career, I have actively contributed to the tax, transfer pricing and valuation communities by publishing in industry journals, speaking at conferences, leading APA negotiations, and resolving transfer pricing disputes.
