About Erika Bliss

In my last job (at CHLA) I worked as a liaison between patients, family, and healthcare professionals with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, social workers, and managers. As charge nurse, I streamlined and organized nurse and nurse assistant assignments, communicate between departments and other charge nurses, physicians and cadre, oversee systemic patient care and coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers. I lead education seminars for new graduates and transitional nurses in the classroom. As one of the senior nurses on the unit, I precepted new nurse hires and conducted care plan, skin, acuity, and charting audits. As an active member of the Clinical Practice Council, I participated in monthly meetings and collective governance, and acted as a liaison for the unit leadership team.
