About Erika Harding

I have experience providing individual and group psychotherapy services to at-risk youth, adults with severe and persistent mental illness. I have worked with clients diagnosed with mood and anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders, as well as others chronic mental illnesses; adolescents diagnosed with ADHD, oppositional defiance, and conduct disorders; adjustment disorders, and experience working with families to address parent-child conflicts. I have experience performing diagnositic clinical intake assessments for children and adolescents. I have performed crisis interventions during intake assessments and performed suicide risk assessments during the clinical interview to establish therapeutic services for clients within 24 hours of the intake interview. I have the ability to perform diagnostic impressions and utilize the DSM IV-TR. In addition to conducting intake assessments, I have experience creating individualized treatment plans with the client during the intake assessment to establish a specific client-focused treatment plan. I have experience facilitating group therapeutic topics pertaining to coping skills and anxiety management, grief and loss recovery, trauma recovery, communication styles, anger management, and assertiveness training. In addition to counseling, I also facilitate career and life skills training, daily living and independent living skills for adults, substance abuse awareness and prevention, and safe sex prevention activities for adolescents. My future goals include working in a clinical setting where I can continue to provide individuals and families with identifying inner resources to achieve desired wellness and improved quality of life.
