About Erika Ritter

Hello everyone. I am a native of Florida. My family has roots in FL from the early 1800's. I started fishing and hiking with my family along the Ocklawaha River since I was 3 yrs. old. I have mostly fished the Ocklawaha River, Lake George and Salt Springs Run. I have held various jobs since I was in High School and college. I worked at the Marion Co. Property Appraisers office in Ocala and Silver Springs. I attend college in Ocala and Gainesville. I worked as a chair side Cert. Dental Assistant full time until 1996. Then worked part time assisting until 2004. I helped my start and fund my ex. husbands and our business Captain Tom's River Drift Fishing in 1983 which became Captain Tom's Custom Charters. In 1986 I was able to acquire enough documented time on the water to get my Captain License as Inland Operator up to 50 Gross Tons. After a divorce I lost all boats and business interest and had to start over with a new boat business. In 2006 with the financial assistance from my Mom I bought used 1990 Harris Flote Bote and named her The Anhinga Spirit. I named my new business A Cruising Down The River! I continue to conduct tours on the Rivers and Lakes in the area. I specialize in Silver and Ocklawaha nature and history tours. The focus of my tours is family fun, relaxation and education backed by good strong science! All of my tours are conducted at safe speed for my passengers and the water way we are touring.
