About Erika Vandervoort

Erika completed the Juris Doctor (JD) and Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences with Specialization in Political Science combined program offered in French at the University of Ottawa. She won the Osgoode Society Prize for Canadian Legal History awarded to the top students in the graduating class. In addition to her studies, Erika worked for the Office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Canada for two years. Initially hired as a Guide-Interpreter, she was subsequently asked to stay on as a Research Assistant. In this position, she worked in close collaboration with the Court’s legal counsel, drafting legal memos on leave to appeal applications, and conducting in-depth research on some of the issues examined by the Court. Last year, she articled as a Bilingual Judicial Law Clerk at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Prior to studying law, Erika held numerous positions. For instance, she worked as a Lifeguard, a Piano Teacher, a Student Ambassador of the University of Ottawa and a House of Commons Page in Parliament. Erika is trilingual in French, English and Spanish.
